YOUR INTRO SESSION

BY KNOWING A LITTLE OF WHAT TO EXPECT, YOU WILL BE PREPARED.  WE HAVE COMPILED A SHORT LIST OF WHAT TO WEAR, BRING AND EXPECT DURING YOUR INTRO SESSION.

You won’t need to bring much with you to the studio. X-tend has brand new equipment for you to use during the workout. Your instructor will teach you how to properly use the Reformer. You will want bring a water bottle to hydrate during your workout and make sure that you are well hydrated before you start. You can refill your water bottle using out filtered water system.
You can have fun with your workout attire but we recommend you don’t go out and spend a lot of money on workout clothes before your first class. Keeping your attire simple, at least at first, will help you figure out what works best for you.
No Shoes:Pilates is usually done barefoot, but if you prefer you can wear socks.
Form-Fitting, Not Baggy clothes:You want workout clothing that is stretchable but not baggy. To best help you, your instructor wants to be able to see your body position and how your muscles are engaging. During some Pilates exercises, you will end up with your legs in the air or torso inverted, and loose clothing could ride up or fall down to be revealing.
Avoid Tie-backs and Belts:Tie-back tops, belts, or tasselscan be uncomfortable when you are lying on your back. They could also get caught in the springs of the Reformers. Try to also avoid clothing with zippers, buckles or other metal material.
No Accessories or Jewelry:Long necklaces, belts, and dangling bracelets can be distracting as well as dangerous if they get caught up in the equipment.
Tie Back Your Hair:Hair needs to be out of the face and tied back if it is long.
No Scents or Make-up:Please refrain from wearing strong scents. Many people are sensitive to perfumes and strongly scented deodorants or hand creams. Make-up such as foundations and blushes can bleed onto the surfaces you lie on especially when you are face down.
Your first session will introduce you to our studio, our equipments and basic Pilates exercises. You will get familiarized with our classes and programs so that you can best achieve your goals.
If you have any questions about your first session that we didn’t cover here, you can email us anytime at info@x-tendpilates.com or call the studio and speak to someone (818) 527-1660. If calling, you may need to leave a message, but we will get back to you as soon as possible.
